La société GlobEO est une SARL Toulousaine créée en 2018 par Stéphane Mermoz, qui était membre de l’équipe BIOMASS du CESBIO de 2011 à 2018. GlobEO développe des services dans le domaine du suivi de l’environnement avec des données d’observation de la terre. Ces données proviennent largement des images satellites Sentinel du programme Européen Copernicus, acquises en continu sur le monde entier.

L’activité de la société GlobEO se résume en trois points.

  1. GlobEO aide les pays concernés à adapter leurs politiques agricoles et forestières dans un contexte de changements climatiques. Pour ce faire, elle aide au développement d’outils d’aides à la décision, comprenant un portefeuille de solutions de gestion adaptées à destination des décideurs. Ces solutions sont développées grâce à l’analyse des rendements agricoles et forestiers passés et leurs projections futures par modélisation, dans un climat changeant.
  2. GlobEO propose des services de formations de l’utilisation de l’imagerie satellitaire pour le suivi de l’environnement.
  3. GlobEO participe à divers projets de R&D.
